Type (lectotype, first-step designated by Kazmi 1964: 423):— ITALY. Calabria. Calabria III District. Castrovillari, in M.te Mula, S. Donato (S. Sosti), loc. pinguib. dumetos. at arborum terminum, sol. calcar. 1850 m c., 26 July 1877, Huter, Porta & Rigo 616 (W!, two sheets; second-step lectotype, here designated: W 18890106266!). Note:— Kazmi (1964) designated the collection in W as the lectotype. In W herbarium, actually, two duplicate specimens exist (W 18890058888 and W 18890106266), so that this can be considered as a first-step typification (Art. 9.17, Ex. 12 of the ICN, McNeill et al. 2012). We narrow here this designation by selecting the most complete specimen as a second-step lectotype.

Distribution:—Narrow endemic to Calabria (Montea-Caramolo mountains) ( Fig. 8 ). According to the criteria reviewed by Siljak-Yakovlev & Peruzzi (2012), this taxon can be considered as schizoendemic.
