TYPE: — CHINA. Sichuan Province, Meigu County, Lama Town, Mountain Huangmaogeng of Daliangshan , 103°6′51.7″E, 28°8′11.2″, 1480 m a.s.l, 23 Jul 2022, Da-Jun Xie SCMG01 (fl.) (holotype SCFI!, isotypes ZY!) and 9 Sep 2023, Da-Jun Xie SCMG02 (fr.) (paratype SCFI!, ZY!)
Diagnosis: Similar to T. sinensis in having white flowers, terminal or axillary cymes, a four-loculed ovary with two ovules per locule, and a four-valvate capsule; differs from the latter by many traits and the key differences are the herb-like habit, toothed leaf margin, subulate stipules with decurrent appendages, and seeds without a membranous wing. These characteristics have not been seen in the three previously-reported Tirpitzia species .
