Lectotype (Jonsell & Jarvis in Nordic J. Bot. 22: 76. 2002): Herb. Linn. No. 644.4 ( LINN) .

Current name: Sorbus x hybrida L. View in CoL ( Rosaceae ).

Note: Hensen (in Belmontia Hort. 5(22): 190. 1961) appears to regard Crataegus hybrida L. (1761) as a valid name, and the basionym of " Sorbus hybrida (L.) L. ". However, Sell (in Watsonia 17: 386. 1989) regards C. hybrida as a nomen nudum, and S. hybrida as a new name dating from 1762.
