NOTES: Lister (1896: 211) commented on material previously published in the British Museum Catalogue of Mycetozoa, p. 150 “from Glen Tanner, Appin, Argyle, in the Kew collection, which resembles Licea flexuosa ” it is close to Enteridium olivaceum but with the spores in clusters of 6–8. “Since the publication of the Catalogue, the same form has been met with on three occasions, namely, in a fir plantation at Leighton Buzzard, in the New Forest, and in Lord Radnor’s woods at Alderbury, Wilts. The purple-brown plasmodiocarps were found on decorticated logs of Scotch fir, long exposed to weather and green with algae. In BM there are six boxes, firstly BM 1647 that we designated as the lectotype and one slide from “New Forest & Alderbury, Dec. 95/N. IX:p 16,65”. The data on this collection however are in notebook XI as referenced on the box, not 9 as referenced on the slide. The specimen is illustrated and with notes and a copy of the paper with the description. There are also illustrations and notes in notebook X: 18–20A. There are five more boxes that are syntypes BM 1353, BM 1354, BM 1355, BM 1442 and BM 1712. Nannenga-Bremekamp (1973: 485) raised the rank of this variety and transferred it to the genus Reticularia as Reticularia liceoides (Lister) Nann. -Bremek.
