Species. B. laportei Lent, Jurberg and Carcavallo View in CoL

Etymology. This species is dedicated to Francis de Laporte, Count of Castelnau, a French naturalist who headed expeditions to South America. He created the Triatoma genus in 1833 and made a general classification of the Hemiptera order (Lent, Jurberg & Carcavallo 1995: 39).

Original citation. “A espécie é dedicada a Francis de Laporte, Conde de Castelnau, naturalista francês que chefiou expedições América do Sul e foi o criador do gênero Triatoma em 1833, além de ter feito uma classificação geral da ordem Hemiptera ” (Lent, Jurberg & Carcavallo 1995: 39).
