Diagnosis. This new species shares a similar forewing pattern with Pseudohermenias hercyniana ; but the scaling on its forewing is noticeably darker than that of the latter species. The male genitalia of P. linxica sp. nov. resembles that of P. absimilis sp. nov., as detailed above. It is also similar to P. hercyniana , yet they can be distinctly differentiated by the characteristics of the valva and the phallus. In P. linxica sp. nov., the valva is slightly sinuate, featuring a short neck approximately half as wide as the widest part of the cucullus; the basal cavity is elongate, somewhat gourd-like; the sacculus is lightly dilated ventrally, bearing a small, acute and naked projection on the ventral margin beyond the middle along with an obtuse, triangular, marginally spined lobe covering the neck of the valva; and the cornuti consists of a cluster of short spines. Whereas in P. hercyniana , the valva is markedly sinuate, possessing a slender neck narrower than the widest third of the cucullus; the basal cavity is oval; the sacculus is dilated ventrally featuring a rounded, marginally spined lobe covering the distal part; and the cornuti consists of numerous short spines.

Description. Head ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–2 ): ocellus well developed; chaetosema present. Frons with appressed scales in the lower part, and projecting scales in the upper part, pale brown mixed with pale fuscous; vertex roughly scaled, pale fuscous mixed with fuscous. Antenna fuscous. Labial palpus porrect; basal segment creamy white; median segment slightly widened, pale fuscous mixed with fuscous laterally; apical segment short, obtuse, fuscous.

Thorax: blackish fuscous mixed with pale fuscous; tegula darken fuscous; posterior crest distinct, darken fuscous. Hind tibia ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 3–4 ) in male not enlarged, bearing a tuft of pale yellow hair pencil from the base. Forewing ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 5–6 ) length 6.5–7.0 mm, elongate triangular, costa slightly curved, apex projecting, termen oblique, slightly arched; upperside ground color pale fuscous to fuscous, fasciae blackish fuscous; costal strigulae white, strigulae five to nine indicated by a single short blotch, extending posteriorly along the edges of the fasciae, presenting as scattered white scales; basal and subbasal fascia fuscous, indistinct; median fascia darkened on the costa, broadened below, projecting to the middle of cell proximally and the upper angle of cell distally respectively, then gradually narrowed and reaching the middle of dorsum; distal 1/3 with blackish fuscous patch extending from costa and the tornus; cilia fuscous to dark fuscous; underside fuscous, costal strigulae indistinct. Hindwing dark fuscous except costal area of forewing overlap white, cubital pecten present, cilia fuscous; underside fuscous.

Abdomen: Male genitalia ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 ) with tegumen narrow, straight, subtriangular. Uncus hairy, broad at the base, gradually narrowed to the apex, bifurcated apex. Socii drooping, small fine-haired lobes. Gnathos a moderately widened transverse, spinulose band connected with weakly sclerotized ventral surface of anal tube. Valva slender, slightly sinuate, with a median constriction forming to a short, moderately narrow neck; basal half slightly dilated ventrally, basal cavity large and elongate, somewhat gourd-like; sacculus sparsely setose, with the basal part narrow, median part inwardly dilated, forming a rounded dorsal edge, ventral edge roughly straight basally, with a small, acute and naked lobe beyond the middle and an obtuse triangular lobe covering the apical part and the neck of the valva, the latter densely spined on the margin; cucullus about half length of the valva, clavate-shaped, widened apically with rounded apex, densely setose. Caulis a little wide, moderately long; anellus moderate in width; phallus ( Fig. 8a View FIGURE 8 ) strongly sclerotized, slightly bent, approximately half length of the valva, gradually narrowed to the apex, apical part acute and bearing two or three minute teeth ( Fig. 8b View FIGURE 8 ), indistinct in some specimens; cornuti a cluster of short spines in the middle of the phallus.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 ) with papillae anales elongate triangular. Posterior apophysis slightly longer than anterior apophysis. Sterigma small, a narrow, collar encircling ostium laterally and ventrally, protruding ventrally to a short tongue (lamella antevaginalis). Ductus bursae twice the length of corpus bursae, with inception of ductus seminalis below colliculum, colliculum well developed, sclerotized, about 2/5 of the ductus bursae length, remainder membranous. Corpus bursae small, oval, densely granulated; signum reduced to a small patch of depressed scobination.

Distribution. China (Gansu).

Etymology. The species name refers to Linxia County, the location where the type series was collected.
