Type material. Lectotype, female: [ Botswana] Sud Afrika, D. Betschuanaland, Serule [GIS: -21.90, 27.33], 1200m, 27.XI.1906, Seiner S.G. [ NHMW].

Diagnosis, female. Length 1.9–2.4 mm, 2.3–2.4 × as long as wide. Antennal scapus with dorsal spike, on its anterior inner face with a long tuft of curved golden setae slightly longer than tarsus; frons deeply concave, setose; scutellum with bristle-like setae; elytral interstriae with narrowly spatulate setae, most setae on disc in rows, on declivity 3–5 × longer and strongly confused; protibiae with 5 or 6 lateral and apical denticles. Male similar to female except less ornamented; scapus rounded, with few setae.

Distribution. South Africa. Botswana.

New records. South Africa, North-West Province , Pilanesberg, ex Olea branch, 20.May.2015, J. Hulcr, leg. [ ZMUB] .

Biology. Host plants include Olea and non-native Ligustrum (Oleaceae) .
