NOTES: The reference to the protologue of this species has been, for a long time, Minakata in Bot. Mag. Tokyo, 22: 322 (1908), possibly because Lister noted it as such in the monograph (Lister 1911: 241) , however although the name is proposed in Minakata’s paper, this author did not describe the species and so it is a nom. nud. The text is in Japanese and the translation (kindly provided by Yukinori Yamamoto) is as follows: “ A. glauca List. , Nov. Sp. This is a very interesting species, which was collected just a little bit on a dead wood at the former site of the shrine of Monkey-God, Itoda (locality in Wakayama Pref.) in the summer of the year before last, and last year. Now I will omit the description, because Mr. Lister will publish it soon.” The description, and so the validity of the name of the species,

was published in Lister (1911: 241–242). This is therefore the valid reference. Lister mentions the following material in the description “On dead wood.– Kii, Japan (BM 3072)”.

In BM there is one box and two slides. Box BM 3072 has a typed label with “Type specimen” on it, and is from July 4th, 1907, the same date as one of the slides. The other slide with a red “type” label, is from “26.6.06”. The box and the slides both have Myc 104 on them, and are from the same locality but with different dates. Notebooks XXVII: 68–70 and NXXV: 41–43 have descriptions and illustrations of both collections. We have chosen BM 3072 as the lectotype, as it is well conserved and is part of the original material studied by Lister. In TNS [ TNS – M R192 , date 1906/6/* Itoda, Inari-cho, Tanabe-shi, Wakayama Pref., collector Minakata, Kumagusu] there is another probable duplicate of the syntype preserved ( Hagiwara 2005). The epithet glauca means “pale or bluish-green” .
