Bombus magnus Vogt, 1911 View in CoL

Cryptic and Palearctic species ( Williams et al. 2012) that spread from Asia over all Europe to Spain. Rasmont et al. (2015) considered B. magnus as Least Concern in the IUCN Red List of European Bees.

In Spain it was located from 100 to 2000 m in the Cantabrian Range, the Pyrenees, Sierra de Guadarrama and provinces of Guadalajara and Teruel ( Castro 1994). Rasmont (1988) and Rasmont et al. (2006) pointed out the preference of B. magnus for Ericaceae , however, in the Iberian Peninsula there are quite a few records on Asteraceae , Boraginaceae , Fabaceae , Rosaceae and Scrophulariaceae ( Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez 2004) .

It has not been recorded in the present study ( Table 3 View TABLE 3 ), but its difficult taxonomic identification makes many of its old records uncertain and in need of verification.
