( Figs. 2E View FIGURE 2 , 5M–O View FIGURE 5 , 9G, 9H View FIGURE 9 , 13I, 13J View FIGURE 13 , 21 View FIGURE 21 )

Leucophenga spinifera Okada, 1987: 92 .

Diagnosis. This species strongly resembles L. varinervis in the colour patterns of abdominal tergites in both male ( Fig. 9G, I View FIGURE 9 ) and female ( Fig. 9H, J View FIGURE 9 ), and the shape of paramere ( Figs. 21C View FIGURE 21 , 22C View FIGURE 22 ), but can be distinguished from the latter in having the postocellar distinct ( Fig. 5M View FIGURE 5 ); aedeagus apically hook-shaped, laterally mostly covered by its long process ( Fig. 21D View FIGURE 21 ); see below for that species.

Description. Ocellar triangle dark brown, with ca. 2 or 3 setae above ocellar setae. Frons brownish ( Fig. 5M View FIGURE 5 ). Pedicel brownish yellow; first flagellomere yellow ( Fig. 5M View FIGURE 5 ). Clypeus entirely brown. Palpus brownish yellow ( Fig. 5M View FIGURE 5 ). Mesonotum brownish yellow, usually brownish to brown in front of scutellum ( Fig. 5N View FIGURE 5 ). Postpronotal lobe yellow ( Fig. 5O View FIGURE 5 ). Acrostichal setulae in ca. 12–14 irregular rows ( Fig. 5N View FIGURE 5 ). Scutellum brownish yellow to dark brown, black laterally, yellow at tip ( Fig. 5N View FIGURE 5 ). Pleura with a brown to dark brown, longitudinal stripe above ( Fig. 5O View FIGURE 5 ). Katepisternum and mesopleuron mostly yellow ( Fig. 5O View FIGURE 5 ). Wing ( Fig. 2E View FIGURE 2 ): nearly hyaline; costal vein between R 2+3 and R 4+5 distally with ca. 4–6 peg-like spinules on ventral surface; R 4+5 and M 1 slightly divergent distally; halter mostly yellowish, with a brownish patch at knob ( Fig. 5N View FIGURE 5 ). Abdominal tergites dark brown, 2nd tergite yellow to brownish medially and laterally, 3rd tergite mostly yellow except for lateral region, setigerous laterally and on posterior margin in males ( Fig. 9G View FIGURE 9 ), 3rd tergite yellow anteriorly in females ( Fig. 9H View FIGURE 9 ), 4th tergite yellow anteriorly. Male terminalia: Epandrium lacking pubescence, with ca. 7 setae near posterior and ventral margins per side ( Fig. 21A View FIGURE 21 ). Cercus lacking pubescence ( Fig. 21A View FIGURE 21 ). Surstylus pubescent ( Fig. 21A View FIGURE 21 ). Hypandrium with 1 sensillum ( Fig. 21B View FIGURE 21 ). Paramere narrow basally, pubescent medially, with ca. 5 sensilla distally ( Fig. 21C View FIGURE 21 ).
