Gonatopus maritimus Olmi 2007b: 217 ; Guglielmino & Olmi 2007: 125, 126.
Description. ♀. Apterous; body length 2.1–2.6 mm. Head black, except mandible and borders of clypeus yellow; antenna brown, except ventral side of antennomere 1 yellow; mesosoma black; metasoma brown; legs brown, except tarsi and articulations testaceous. Head excavated, shiny, unsculptured, except vertex and temple slightly granulate; frontal line complete; occipital carina shortly present behind and on sides of the ocellar triangle; POL = 1; OL = 2; OOL = 7; temple very long, slightly shorter than half of eyes (7:18). Palpal formula 5/2. Antenna clavate; antennomeres in following proportions: 5:4:11:7:6:5.5:5:5.5:4.5:7. Pronotum crossed by strong transverse impression, shiny, setose, slightly granulate, with anterior collar partly unsculptured. Mesoscutum dull, granulate, with two strong lateral pointed apophyses ( Fig. 229D View FIGURE 229 ). Mesoscutellum very sloping anteriorly. Metanotum excavated behind mesoscutellum ( Fig. 229E View FIGURE 229 ). Metapectal-propodeal disc dull, slightly granulate, with strong median longitudinal furrow; propodeal declivity strongly transversely striate. In paratype, propodeal declivity rugose and with undistinctly visible transverse striae. Mesopleuron slightly granulate, not transversely striate. Metapleuron transversely striate. Meso-metapleural suture distinct and complete. Protarsomeres in following proportions: 11:2:3:14:21. Enlarged claw ( Fig. 223F View FIGURE 223 ) with one small subapical tooth and six peg-like setae (in holotype) or five peg-like setae + one bristle (in paratype). Protarsomere 5 ( Fig. 223F View FIGURE 223 ) with inner side proximally not serrate and two rows of 5 (proximal) + 21 lamellae (in holotype) or 3 (proximal) + 16 lamellae (in paratype); apex with at least 12 lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.
♂. Unknown.
Material examined. Types: ♀ holotype: SOUTH AFRICA: Western Cape, West Coast National Park , about 2 km S Dainepos Rd. Junction , 2.II.2006, M. Olmi leg. (attacking adults of Colistra n. sp.), SAM-HYM-P024976 ( SAMC) . Paratypes: NAMIBIA: 51 km S Grünau, along Rd B 1, C. 1.III.2006, B. 5.III.2006, Sf. 5.IV.2006, reared from a ♀ adult of Aconurella compta (Naudé) , M. Olmi leg., 1♀ ( MOLC) ; 40 km W Keetmanshoop, along Rd B 4, C. 10.III.2006, B. 14.III.2006, Sf. 11.IV.2006, reared from an adult of Aconurella compta (Naudé) , M. Olmi leg., 27 T, 1♀ ( MOLC) ; 6.5 km W Aus, along Rd B 4, C. 12.III.2006, B. 14.III.2006, Sf. 13.IV.2006, reared from an adult of Aconurella compta (Naudé) , M. Olmi leg., 28 A, 1♀ ( MOLC) . About further paratypes, see remarks .
Hosts. Cicadellidae ( Guglielmino et al. 2013) : in South Africa: Colistra sp.; in Namibia: Aconurella compta (Naudé) . About Agallia cuneata Cogan (= Austroagallia cuneata (Cogan)) , considered by mistake host of G. maritimus by Olmi (2007b) and Guglielmino & Olmi (2007), see remarks.
Distribution. Namibia, South Africa.
Remarks. The following three ♀ paratypes were attributed by mistake to G. maritimus : ( Guglielmino & Olmi 2007; Olmi 2007b): NAMIBIA: 27.6 km S Omaruru, along Rd C 33, C. 8.III.2006, B. 12.III.2006, Sf. 12.IV.2006, reared from a nymph of Austroagallia cuneata (Cogan) , M. Olmi leg., 23 A, 1♀ paratype (MOLC); 27.6 Km S Omaruru, along Rd C 33, C. 8.III.2006, B. 13.III.2006, Sf. 12.IV.2006, reared from a nymph of Austroagallia cuneata (Cogan) , M. Olmi leg., 23 B, 1♀ paratype (SMWN); 27.6 km S Omaruru, along Rd C 33, C. 8.III.2006, B. 11.III.2006, Sf. 12.IV.2006, reared from a nymph of Austroagallia cuneata (Cogan) , M. Olmi leg., 23 C, 1♀ paratype (MOLC). The above three specimens are now attributed to G. okahandjae Olmi (see Material examined for this species).
