Figs 21A–F View FIGURES 21 , 61G View FIGURES 61 , 66E–H View FIGURES 66 .
Idioceus confuscous Pruthi 1936: 104 View in CoL , fig. 118, pl. VIII, fig. 3; Maldonado-Capriles 1965: 245. Viraktamath 1980: 229, 231, figs. 7–16.
Diagnosis. Ochraceous with pair of round black spots on fore margin, pronotum marked with fuscous, basal triangles on mesonotum fuscous. Crown and frontoclypeus dorsad of eyes shagreen. Forewing with 3 subapical cells. Male pygofer with thin long ventral process, shorter than pygofer ventral margin. Aedeagal shaft compressed, sinuate, with two pairs of subequal processes arising slightly ventrad of gonopore on ventral surface.
Description. Female. Sternite VII narrowed posteriorly and more or less convex, about 1.8× as wide at base as long medially with a small median lobe on posterior margin ( Fig. 61G View FIGURES 61 ). Valvula I slightly curved in mid region, broad at base, gradually narrowed distally with sculptured area occupying distal 0.6 length, strigae oblique ( Figs 66E,F View FIGURES 66 ). Valvula II almost straight with toothed area occupying distal 0.4 length, teeth distinct, slightly widely spaced ( Figs 66G,H View FIGURES 66 ).
Material examined. INDIA: Himachal Pradesh: Simla, 14.x.1979, C.A. Viraktamath; Meghalaya: 12♂, 33♀, Cherrapunjee , 1299m, 5.xi.1981, C.A. Viraktamath; 2♂, 5♀, Shillong, 3.xi.1981, C.A. & S. Viraktamath ( UASB). NEPAL: Kathmandu : 1♂, Kakanichaola, 28.x. –24.xi.1979, V.K. Thapa ( UASB).
Remarks. Pruthi (1936), Maldonado-Capriles (1965) and Viraktamath (1980) have adequately described this species. This species is similar to I. shillongensis but can be differentiated by the forewing having three subapical cells (two subapical cells in I. shillongensis ) and the male pygofer with a ventral process (absent in I. shillongensis ).
