Yemmatropis hsiaoi Cai & Bu View in CoL , sp. nov.
( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 D; 2C; 3C, G)
Diagnosis. Yemmatropis hsiaoi sp. nov. is distinguished from Y. dispar by the black apical 1/4 of clypeus ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 C), the blunt lateral projection of male genital capsule ( Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3. A – D ), and the bluntly broad inner projection of paramere ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3. A – D G); from Y. erectus by the largely pale brown clypeus with only the apical 1/4 black and the incomplete woolly band behind the eye ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 C), the short, prostrate scutellar spine ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 D), the round apex of cuplike sclerite of male genital capsule ( Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3. A – D ), and the slender relatively blade of paramere ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3. A – D G); from Y. nigrovittatus sp. nov. by the incomplete woolly band behind the eye ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 C), pale brown punctures on pronotum dorsally, and the darker brown apex of frons, bands from antennal bases to suture of anterior lobe of head, and area around ocelli ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 D), the blunt lateral projection of male genital capsule ( Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3. A – D ), and the bluntly broad inner projection of paramere ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3. A – D G).
Description. Male (n = 9). Length 7.24–7.76 mm, width across hemelytra 0.98–1.10 mm. General coloration pale brown, with ventral surfaces of head and thorax black. Head ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 D; 2C): length 0.78–0.86 mm, width 0.60–0.66 mm; pale brown dorsally, except darker brown on apex of frons, bands from antennal bases to suture of anterior lobe, and area around ocelli; black on ventral from midline of eye including lorum and apical 1/4 of clypeus, and dark brown on lateral of clypeus; narrow bands of woolly setae extending from base of head to middle of eye around ventral margin of eye to lorum (covering dorsal 1/3 of lorum), from ocellus along suture of posterior lobe to connect lateral band, and across anterior margin of frons between antennal bases. Rostrum: length 2.46– 2.68 mm, extending just beyond metacoxae to abdominal segment II. Antenna: segment I, length 4.95–5.20 mm; II, 2.20–2.35 mm; III, 3.15–3.28 mm; IV, 0.93–1.08 mm; segments I–III pale brown to dark brown, segment I with numerous distinct, dark brown spots; segment IV fusiform, black, apical 1/5 pale yellow. Pronotum ( Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1 D; 2C): length 0.93–1.08 mm, maximum width 0.86–0.92 mm; deeply and uniformly punctuate except for impunctate calli, pale brown except for shiny black quadrate area above and anterior to proacetabula. Scutellar spine ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 D): short, prostrate, length 0.20–0.26 mm. Hemelytron: pale brown, weakly tinged and streaked with darker brown. Ventral surface: abdomen pale brown except for shiny black, grooved segment II; largely glabrous except for narrow band of woolly setae along rostral groove and posterior and lateral margins of segment II; thoracic surface shiny black, with narrow bands of woolly setae bordering rostral groove and margins of pronotum. External scent efferent system: evaporatorium limited to metapleuron, dark gray, scent channel black; erect part of spout pale yellow. Legs: pale brown; femora with numerous dark brown spots, some coalescent to form larger spots, clavate apices darker brown; tibiae pale brown, with scattered, indistinct dark brown spots; tarsi brown; claws black. Femoral lengths: profemur 3.20–3.36 mm; mesofemur 3.50–3.85 mm; metafemur 5.61–5.92 mm. Tibial lengths: protibia 3.65–3.80 mm; mesotibia 4.01–4.30 mm; metatibia 7.28–7.44 mm. Opening of male genital capsule and paramere as shown in Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3. A – D , G.
