Wroughtonia claviventris ( Wesmael, 1835) comb. nov.

Comparative diagnosis. Similar to Helcon sulcatus (length of fore wing 4-9 mm, antennal segments 34-37, antenna brown apically; hind femur somewhat narrowed subapically and length of ovipositor sheath about 1.1 times fore wing), but has first metasomal tergite evenly widened posteriorly and about as long as its apical width (hardly widened and about 1.4 times longer than its apical width in H. sulcatus ) and hind femur rather robust (fig. 39 in van Achterberg, 1987 vs Fig. 4 E of H. sulcatus ).

Host. Reported from Melandryidae ( Melandrya caraboides (Linnaeus, 1758) ; Fahringer, 1934).

Distribution. Europe, Iran,? China ( Taiwan).

Notes. According to Chou et Hsu (1998, fig. 83) the hind femur has a “wide protuberance subapically”, but according to van Achterberg (1987) the West Palaearctic W. claviventris has a small ventral protuberance (fig. 39 in van Achterberg, 1987) resulting in a somewhat widened femur. It may concern an undescribed species and the occurrence of this species in China is uncertain. This species belongs to the redefined genus Wroughtonia Cameron (comb. nov.).
