Vietanna Lee & Pham View in CoL in Pham & Lee, 2021: 1203 [Type species: Vietanna hanoiensis Pham & Lee, 2021 View in CoL (Hanoi, Vietnam)].

Redescription of the genus. Body medium to large-sized. Head including compound eyes about as wide as or slightly wider than mesonotum. Postclypeus moderately prominent, with symmetrical series of fuscous fasciae along transverse grooves. Pronotum much longer than head and distinctly shorter than mesonotum excluding cruciform elevation. Lateral pronotal collar obtusely angled. Mesonotum with the following black to fuscous marks: medial longitudinal fascia running between anterior margin of mesonotum and anterior margin of cruciform elevation, sometimes disconnected in the middle; a pair of inwardly curved fasciae along parapsidal sutures; a pair of small spots on scutal depressions; and a pair of spots on posterior end of lateral sigilla. Wings hyaline, with eight and six apical cells on fore wing and hind wing, respectively. Fore wing with comparatively short apical cells. Fore wing with infuscations on radial, radiomedial, and medial crossveins, and sometimes on mediocubital crossvein, and with roundish infuscation on each hind submargin of radius anterior 2, radius posterior, median 1 to 4, and cubitus anterior 1 veins. Male operculum small, semicircular, about as long as wide, extending slightly beyond posterior margin of abdominal sternite II. Male opercula widely separated. Male abdomen cylindrical, much longer than head and thorax together. Male abdominal tergite 3 distinctly wider than mesonotum. Timbal cover slightly longer than wide, mostly concealing timbal but exposing a little portion of inner part of timbal in dorsal view. Male abdominal sternite III with small bump (not tubercle-like) on each lateral surface. Male abdominal sternite IV without bump or tubercle-like projections. Male pygofer elliptical in ventral view, with dorsal beak and distal shoulder. Upper lobes of pygofer absent. Uncus not bifurcated but often incised medially at apex in ventral view; slightly curved inwardly in lateral view. Basal lobe of pygofer absent. Basal-lobe-like structure roundly and widely exposed on basal part of male pygofer. Aedeagus protruding out of uncus.
