Diagnosis. Sexually dimorphic, male lacking black round spots on fore margin of head present in female. Pronotum with a median large round black spot in both sexes, mesoscutum black with lateral narrow lemon yellow color. Male pygofer with slightly sinuate ventral margin, anal collar process slender, bent dorsally at mid length; aedeagus with well-developed preatrium, and dorsal apodeme, shaft sinuate, apex attenuated and almost straight, an angular projection on ventral surface of shaft just ventrad of gonopore.
Description. Female. Sternite VII 2× as wide as long medially, posterior margin convex with median margin almost straight ( Fig. 62J View FIGURES 62 ). Valvula I broad in proximal region, then narrowed, apex acutely pointed, strigae slightly oblique, sculptured area occupying distal 0.47 length ( Figs 72 View FIGURES 72 EF). Valvula II more or less straight, of uniform width, with only two effaced widely spaced teeth near apex ( Figs 72 View FIGURES 72 GH).
Material examined: HOLOTYPE ♂, INDIA: Karnataka: Jog Falls , 8.v.1976, B. Mallik ( UASB). Paratype, 1♀, data as for holotype ( UASB). Other material. Several males and females from Makuta (on Vateria indica canopy), Mangalore (on Mangifera indica L.), Karwar, Udupi, Hebri (near Bantwal), Dharmasthala, Jog Falls, Mahé (Puducherry) collected during January , February , May , September and Noember ( UASB).
Remarks. The pronotal black round spot is reduced in some specimens collected from Vateria indica canopy.
