Idioscopus jayashriae Viraktamath & Viraktamath 1985: 308–310 View in CoL , figs 29–39.

Diagnosis. Ochraceous with virescent patches on forewing clavus, two round spots on fore margin of head, basal triangles on mesonotum, semicircular spot on lateral margin of mesoscutellum, black. Male pygofer with sinuate ventral margin, anal collar process L-shaped, style with subapical tooth; aedeagus with well-developed preatrium, shaft almost straight before gonopore, about 2× as long as preatrium, apex attenuated and strongly curved and whip-like, dorsal apodeme well-developed.

Descri ption. Female. Sternite VII 2× as wide as medially long, posterior margin medially produced with median lobe ( Fig. 62G View FIGURES 62 ). Valvula I slightly curved dorsally, narrowed distally, sculptured area occupying distal 0.43 length, strigae, strigae slighty curved ( Figs 71 View FIGURES 71 IJ). Valvula II less curved dorsally compared to valvula I, narrowed distally with well-developed slightly widely spaced teeth, toothed area occupying distal 0.4 length ( Figs 71 View FIGURES 71 KL).

Material examined. HOLOTYPE ♂, INDIA: Karnataka: Mangalore, 12.i.1984, ex mango, Shashidhar Coll. ( UASB). Paratype 1 ♀, data as for holotype ( UASB). Other material. INDIA: 2♂, Karnataka: Sirsi, Nilkunda , 9.v.2005, Radhamani, T. R. ( UASB).

Remarks. Viraktamath & Viraktamath (1985) adequately described and illustrated the species. This species was described based on specimens collected on mango ( Mangifera indica L.) at Mangalore. This species and three new species namely, U. parvathiae , U. poornachandrai and U. radhamaniae have similar male genitalia and black maculae on mesonotum however, they differ in the curvature of the aedeagal shaft, relative length and disposition of preatrium and the aedeagal shaft, in addition to differences in the shapes of the pronotal dark brown markings. These species thus form a very closely related group morphologically.
