Type material. Holotype: TURKEY: Ankara Prov.: ɗ, Elma Daği (north slopes), 1200 m, 31.X.1995 (S. Vit) ( MHNG). Paratype: TURKEY: Ankara Prov.: ɗ, same data as holotype ( MHNG).

Description. Body length 1.6–1.65 mm. Winged. Body dark brown with reddish elytra and antennae, black abdomen, yellowish legs and yellow palpi.

Head slightly longer (0.30 mm) than wide (0.285–0.29 mm), frontal rostrum 0.14–0.145 mm wide and 0.08 mm long. Eyes well developed with about 30 ommatidia. Last segment of maxillary palpi 0.2 mm long and 0.08– 0.09 mm wide.

Pronotum wider (0.34 mm) than long (0.30 mm) with lateral antebasal foveae slightly impressed.

Elytra wider (0.64–0.65 mm) than long (0.49–0.50 mm) with humeri not very protruding. Discal fovea extended posteriorly in discal stria reaching less than half elytral length.

Abdomen with 1st tergite 0.20–0.21 mm long, basal impression extending on more than half of tergite width.

Male. Antennae ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 4 ) 0.74–0.75 mm long, club 0.29–0.30 mm long; scapus and segment 2 distinctly longer than wide; 3 slightly longer than wide; 4 slightly wider than long; 5 wider than 4 and slightly wider than long; 6 and 7 wider than long, 7 wider than 6; 8 strongly wider than long and shorter than previous segments. Metaventrite with slight median impression. Femora and tibiae of all legs slightly thickened, posterior margin of mesotrochanters pointed in the middle, mesotibiae with small subapical tooth, metatibiae with apical spur. All abdominal sternites not modified. Aedeagus ( Figs. 10–11 View FIGURES 10 – 11 ) 0.34–0.36 mm long, dorsal apophysis of median lobe sinuate and canaliculate, with medial margin subapically prolonged into long spine-like process extended medially and at middle with spine-like apophysis directed medially and upwards. Ventral portion of median lobe distinctly shorter than dorsal apophysis, laterally curved and with spine-like apex.

Female. Unknown.

Comparative notes. Tychus viti is similar to T. dalmatinus Reitter, 1880 from which it can be easily distinguished by the shape of ventral portion and dorsal apophysis of the median lobe of aedeagus.
