Comments. In his treatise of carrot pests, Rivnay (1962) stated that “in Israel... T. nigricornis [= Bactericera trigonica ] is the common species, and not T. viridula [= Trioza apicalis ] as was formerly believed ( Rivnay 1960).” It is not clear if Rivnay had actually seen specimens of T. apicalis from Israel. We did not examine any material of this species from Israel and do not, therefore, include it in the list of Israeli Psylloidea .
