Distribution. Tropical Africa.
Diagnosis. Face ivory or yellow with frons transversely banded with black between antennal ledges (as in Nyanja ); coronal markings (when present) confined to tylus. Head angularly produced, tylus greatly exceding antennal ledges ( Figs 6 View FIGURES 3 – 6 H–K); pronotum sparsely punctate (as in Nyanja ); tegmina with black freckles, veins obscure, bullae at tip of clavi; pecten of 2nd tarsomere of hind leg with 7–8 black-tipped spines. No appreciable sexual dimorphism. Ovipositor 2nd valvulae tapered to pointed tip, without teeth on dorsal margin beyond fused bases ( Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 Q–R). Length: 4 mm.
Included taxa. There are 3 distinctive species in this subgenus, all new combinations.
