Like 2 but involucre and very young stems and leaves fioccose, soon glabrescent; stems up to c. 30 cm, woody at base, with divaricate branches; capitula usually 3-4; pappus usually of 12 long hairs. Maritime rocks. Açores. Az. (Madeira.)
