Thinoscatella Mathis, 1979

Thioscatella Mathis, 1979: 20 (as a subgenus of the genus Lamproscatella Hendel ). Type species: Lamproscatella lattini Mathis, 1979 .

Remarks. This genus is somewhat similar to Lamproscatella Hendel , but may be distinguished from the latter by the eye­to­gena ratio of more than 4 and a posterior orb that is inserted closer to the inner vt than to the anterior orb. In Lamproscatella Hendel , the eye­to­gena ratio is less than 4, and the posterior orb is inserted closer to the anterior orb than to the inner vt. The genus also is similar to Haloscatella Mathis , but may be distinguished from the latter by the anterior and posterior npl equidistant from the notopleural suture. In Haloscatella Mathis , the posterior npl is farther from the notopleural suture than the anterior npl (Wirth et al., 1993).
