Geographic distribution.
Palearctic region. In tundra zone of Russia: it was reported as P. maculosum from Komi Republic region ( Lukin 1957, 1962).
Location.
No specimen in our collection.
Ecology.
This leech normally lives in s a temperate or even relatively cold climate; prefers stagnant freshwater; it parasitises waterfowl, mainly ducks and geese.
