Description. Length 6.4–7.0 mm, width 2.4–2.7 mm. General color ( Figs 14 View FIGURE 14 C–14E) metallic blue or grey; antenna black except antennomeres IX–XI white or pale yellow. Antennae filiform in males, but antennomere VII distinctly swollen, X with a broad lateral process at middle ( Fig. 18A View FIGURE 18 ), length ratios of antennomeres I–XI 1.0: 0.3: 0.8: 0.9: 0.9: 0.9: 1.0: 0.9: 0.9: 0.9: 1.1, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–XI 2.9: 1.3: 2.9: 3.2: 3.0: 2.9: 2.4: 2.6: 2.3: 2.4: 4.6; filiform in females ( Fig. 18B View FIGURE 18 ), length ratios of antennomeres I–XI 1.0: 0.3: 0.7: 0.8: 0.8: 0.8: 0.9: 0.9: 0.8: 0.8: 1.0, length to width ratios of antennomeres I–XI 3.3: 1.8: 2.8: 3.2: 2.9: 2.7: 3.2: 3.3: 3.4: 3.5: 4.3. Elytra elongate and parallel-sided, 1.9x longer than wide; disc with dense, coarse punctures, arranged into longitudinal rows, with one weak longitudinal ridge between two longitudinal rows of punctures, ridges near suture abbreviated. Tarsomeres I of front legs swollen in males. Aedeagus ( Figs 18 View FIGURE 18 C–18E) slender, 5.9x longer than wide; sides widest at apical 1/3, abruptly narrowed and then gradually broadened towards apex, apex with median, shallow and narrow notch; gradually narrowed towards base; tectum well sclerotized, basally broadened, broader than aedeagus at base; almost straight from apical 2/ 5 in lateral view, and then slightly curved, straight from apex to apical 1/6; ventral surface with deep notch from apex to apical 2/5, mesally extending and approximate at apical 1/6; triangular sclerites small; internal sac with one median, elongate sclerite, gradually broadened towards base, about 0.5x as long as aedeagus, with two pairs of hook-like sclerites locate subbasally and subapically. Gonocoxae ( Fig. 18G View FIGURE 18 ) elongate, widest at apical 1/6, both gonocoxae combined together from basal 1/7 to apical 1/6; apices narrowly rounded, each gonocoxa with eight setae along outer margin from apex to apical 1/6; with one pair of short lateral processes at basal 2/5. Ventrite VIII ( Fig. 18F View FIGURE 18 ) elongate; disc with several long setae laterally and near apical margin, and with dense, short setae along apical margin; spiculum extremely slender. Receptacle of spermatheca ( Fig. 18H View FIGURE 18 ) strongly swollen; pump slender and strongly curved; proximal spermathecal duct deeply inserted into receptacle, narrow and short
Diagnosis. Specimens of T. houjayi sp. nov. are similar to those of T. yuae sp. nov. in possessing three apical white antenomeres (two apical white antennomeres in T. tsoui sp. nov. and T. kedenburgi ) and reduced longitudinal ridges near the suture of the elytra (distinct longitudinal ridges near suture of elytra in T. elegantula ). They cannot be separated from each other based on external morphology. However, T. houjayi sp. nov. is only found in Kalimantan and males have slender and notched apices of the aedeagi, in contrast to those of T. yuae sp. nov., which is confined to Sarawak and has broad and rounded apices of aedeagi.
Etymology. The new species is dedicated to Mr. Hou-Jay Chen, a member of TCRT for his contribution to diversity of leaf beetles.
Distribution. Indonesia: Kalimantan.
