Lectotype (Underwood in Bull. Torrey Bot. Club 33: 198. 1906): [icon] " Filix latifolia , non ramosa nigris tuberculis pulverulenta" in Plumier, Descr. Pl. Amér.: 6, t. 9. 1693.
Current name: Thelypteris reticulata (L.) Proctor ( Thelypteridaceae ).
Note: Proctor (in Howard, Fl. Lesser Antilles 2: 309. 1977) designated 1251.25 (LINN) as type, but his choice is pre-dated by that of Underwood. Jarvis (in Symb. Bot. Upsal. 33(3): 28, f. 3. 2005) reproduces an image of Underwood’s lectotype.
