Species 60: Teuchophorus krabiensis View in CoL sp. nov. (male and female) (figures 229–234)
Material examined. Type material: Thailand: Krabi province, Krabi , Su-Saan Hawy, sandy beach, 24 October 1997, male and two males, six females (No. 97111, leg. P. Grootaert). Etymology. Refers to the type locality Krabi .
Diagnosis. Large species, without stigma. Eyes rather widely separated. Antenna with basal segments brown; third segment yellowish brown, about 1.25 times as long as deep, with a rather acute apex. Legs and coxae yellow. (Male) Mid femur with an irregular row of partly hair-like av, longest on basal half. Hind femur anteroventrally near apex with a few longer hairs. Mid tibia: two ad, one pd, without ventrals in male (in female one ventral). Hind tibia with five dorsals. Hypopygium small.
Male
Body length 1.7 mm; wing length 1.55 mm.
Head. Frons and face with shining dark metallic ground colour. Face below about as wide as depth of third antennal segment. Palpi small, dark brown, with relatively long, black hairs, each with a black apical bristlet. Rostrum dark brown. Occiput shining blackish green. Chaetotaxy as usual; two very small, thin postocellars. Postoculars rather long, uniseriate, black. Antenna (figure 229): with basal segments brown and apical segment yellowish brown. Marginal bristlets on second segment short, longest above. Third segment triangular with rounded basal angles and a rather acute apex, about 1.25 times as long as deep. Arista about 2.5 times as long as antenna, very shortly pubescent; basal aristal segment shorter than third antennal segment.
Thorax. Thorax and scutellum shining dark metallic green; pleurae partly dark brown. Chaetotaxy as usual; acr uniseriate, rather long. Two minute, thin propleural hairlets.
Legs. Legs and coxae yellow.
Fore leg. Coxa anteriorly with brownish yellow bristle-like hairs, growing rather long downwards. Femur antero- and posteroventrally with rows of very short, thin hairs. Tibia shorter than femur, without bristles or serration. First tarsal segment with a small, black spinule at ventral base. Length of tibia and tarsal segments (in mm): 0.4:0.27: 0.12: 0.1:0.08: 0.09.
Mid leg (figure 230). Coxa anteriorly shortly haired. Femur with an irregular row of partly hair-like av, longest and bristle-like on basal half (nearly as long as depth of femur); a small preapical av, distinct between the hair-like av on apical third of femur. Tibia about as long as femur; two ad, one pd, no ventrals. Length of tibia and tarsal segments (in mm): 0.6:0.33: 0.16:0.12:0.09: 0.1.
Hind leg (figure 231). Coxa with a thin, black exterior bristle. Femur near apex anteroventrally with a few longer hairs, one of which is longer and bristle-like. Tibia about as long as femur; five rather short dorsal bristles; one very weak and short ventral bristle; at tip a brush of short, partly strong bristlets (figure 232). Length of tibia and tarsal segments (in mm): 0.62: 0.17: 0.22:0.15:0.1:0.1.
Wing. Wing (figure 233) very feebly brownish tinged. No stigma; costa not thickened. r4+5 and m1+2 more or less parallel. Halters yellow. Squamae yellow, with a narrow brown border, and brownish yellow cilia.
Abdomen. Terga shining dark metallic green, with short, black hairs and hindmarginal bristlets. Sterna brown. Hypopygium (figure 234) small, dark, with yellow cerci.
Female
Body length 1.65–1.95 mm; wing length 1.55–1.6 mm.
Face not broader than in male. Fore femur ventrally bare. Mid femur without av, apart from a small preapical av. Mid tibia with a ventral bristle. Hind femur with a small preapical av. Oviscapt with eight black acanthae.
