( Figs 11 View FIGURE 11. a – b c–d)
Diagnosis. Large species characterized by a combination of tricolor pattern, and the mandible broad and twisted with the lower tooth distinctly longer than the upper one.
Description. FEMALE. L: 5.8
Head. Barely constricted behind eyes. Temples smooth, short and rounded. Occipital carina lacking dorsally. Occiput sloping down abruptly behind ocellae. Vertex and occiput sparsely punctate. Clypeus and face shining and sparsely punctate, face more densely punctate medially. Frons impressed medially, smooth and weakly striate transversally. An obtuse median longitudinal ridge is distinguishable from the middle of the frons to the upper part of the face. Face widened basally, clypeus transverse (Ci = 2), its ventral margin slightly convex and with lateral lamellae. Malar space short (MLMi = 0.7). Mandibles stout, ventrally widened, twisted at apex, with lower tooth longer than the upper tooth, which is distinctly blunt. Ocelli rather wide (IOi = 1.2, OOi = 1.1). The unique type specimen lacks antennae.
Mesosoma . Shining, densely and deeply punctate, with regular long erect silver pilosity. Pronotum sparsely punctate and wrinkled anteriorly. Epomia oblique, long and strong. Notaulus deep and coriaceous. Epicnemial carina thick. Speculum almost smooth. Scutellum without lateral carinae. Propodeum reaching the middle of hind coxa, coriaceous and with complete carination. Anterior transverse carina thick. Area basalis truncate; area superomedia about 1.6x longer than wide, transversally rugose, its apical carinae indistinct from transversal wrinkling of area petiolaris, which is longer and wider. Pterostigma about four time longer than wide.
Metasoma. Tergite I almost smooth, flat dorsally and 1.3x longer than tergite II. Postpetiole rounded. Glymma short and oblique. Tergite II smooth basally and finely striate posteriorly with sparse punctures laterally; about three times longer than wide apically. Tergite III and following broadly compressed and alutaceous with moderate shallow punctuation. Ovipositor long (OTi = 2.5), slightly down curved in its apical third and slightly broadened dorso-ventrally before apex.
Color. Head yellow with centre of frons, vertex and occiput black. Mesosoma black-brown, tegula yellow. Ventral part of pronotum, line under wings and mesopleural sutures lighter. Legs orange, fore and middle coxae and trochanters yellow. Metasoma orange. Tergite II and base of tergite III darker. Ovipositor and sheath black brown. Wings hyaline, stigma light brown.
MALE. Unknown.
Etymology. Refers to the coloration pattern: “telo loko” means “three colors” in the Malagasy language.
Distribution records. Madagascar (Toamasina province).
Type material. HOLOTYPE Ƥ ( MNHN EY 2464) “ Madagascar, Baie d’Antongil, A. Mocquerys 1898”. Antennae lacking.
