Type material: Holotype: male ( IZCAS), Shuixian Cave [25°12.819'N, 110°12.050'E, ALT: 161m, T: 24°C, H: 92%], Lingui County, Guilin, Guangxi, China, July 18, 2009, C. Wang & Z. Yao leg. Paratypes: 3 males, 64 females, same data as holotype.
Etymology: The specific name is derived from the Latin word “cucurbita ”, meaning “gourd”, and refers to the gourd-shaped spermatheca; adjective.
Diagnosis: This new species can be distinguished from other species of this genus by the distinctive shape of male palp bulb, the short, beak-shaped embolus ( Figs 16 View FIGURE 16 C–D, 18A–B), and the gourd-shaped spermatheca of female ( Figs 17 View FIGURE 17 D, 19B).
Description: male (holotype). Total length 1.62 ( Fig. 16 View FIGURE 16 A). Prosoma 0.65 long, 0.55 wide. Opisthosoma 0.87 long, 0.62 wide. Sternum 0.44 long, 0.38 wide. Prosoma, sternum, yellow; legs, labium, endites and chelicerae pale yellow. Prosoma nearly round, with a pair of setae at the retrolateral side of eyes. Six eyes. Chelicerae longer than endites, with two teeth and three tiny granulous denticles on the promargin, four small triangular teeth on the retromargin of fang furrow ( Fig. 18 View FIGURE 18 C). Femur I–IV with two rows of short macrosetae ventrally. Patellae I–IV with one long macroseta on the distal part of dorsal surface. Tibia I–IV with one long macroseta dorsally (position 0.5). Leg measurements: I 4.60 (1.50, 0.25, 1.30, 0.95, 0.60); II 4.05 (1.30, 0.25, 1.20, 0.75, 0.55); III 2.87 (0.95, 0.20, 0.85, 0.50, 0.37); IV 3.95 (1.45, 0.25, 1.05, 0.70, 0.50). Leg formula: I- II-IV-III. Opisthosoma dark green, covered with long setae. Bulb yellowish. Embolus beak-shaped, approximately 1/3 the length of bulb, and angled less than 90° to the axis of bulb ( Figs 16 View FIGURE 16 C–D, 18A–B).
Female (one of the paratypes). Similar to male in coloration and general features, but with a smaller body size and shorter legs. Total length 1.55 ( Figs 17 View FIGURE 17 A–B). Prosoma 0.62 long, 0.60 wide. Opisthosoma 0.80 long, 0.75 wide. Sternum 0.42 long, 0.37 wide. Leg measurements: I 4.42 (1.37, 0.25, 1.20, 0.90, 0.70); II 3.80 (1.25, 0.25, 1.00, 0.75, 0.55); III 2.69 (0.87, 0.20, 0.75, 0.50, 0.37); IV 3.70 (1.25, 0.25, 1.00, 0.70, 0.50). Leg formula: I-II-IV-III. Spermatheca gourd-shaped in dorsal view ( Figs 17 View FIGURE 17 D, 19B).
Variation: Total length: males 1.60–1.65 (n = 4), females (1.52–1.58) (n=64).
