Host-plants. – In China, host plants include Bambusa stenostach , Phyllostachys arcana , P. bambusoides , P. sulphurea , and Pleioblastus amarus .
Distribution. – China: Zhejiang (Hangzhou), Shandong (Taishan), Yunnan (Kunming, Lijiang), Shaanxi (Xi’an), Shanghai, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Taiwan; Japan, Europe, New Zealand, North America.
Biology. – The species is an important common pest on bamboo; it mainly infests young plants of bamboo. Generally, the aphid feeds on young leaves not fully developed, and forms numerous colonies.
