However the legend on page 72 (= 1853a: 85) for Planche II, ii figure 2 is labelled “... Tachinus humeralis type ” and figure 1 is labelled “... Tachinus humeralis var. rufescens ”. Neither the listing of humeralis on page 53 nor on figure 2 is attributed to another author as Mulsant and Rey did for other previously described species cited in the article]; Type locality: Not cited).
