Gray, 1825. — Type localities: Thiverval-Grignon, Valmondois & Tancrou. — Type age: Eocene (Bartonian). A new species based in part on Cypraea pediculus Linnaeus, 1758 , of Lamarck, 1803. Deshayes species name, being a junior primary homonym, was renamed Cypraea pedicularis Deshayes, 1844 (see below). Pacaud (2020d: pl. 1) chose as lectotype of this species one of Lamarck’s specimens (MNHN.F.A69376); MNHN.F.A80103, A80104, A80105, paralectotypes, from an unknown locality, probably Valmondois or Auvers-sur-Oise.
