General distribution. Described from Costa Rica (Prov: Guanacaste: Estacion Cacao (SW of Volcan Cacao); 3 km SE of R. Naranjo. Prov. Puntarenas: San Luis (R. B. Monteverde). Prov. Alajuela: Dos Rios de Ulpala, and W Station of San Ramon). ( Brailovsky & Barrera 1997, Packauskas 2010).
Material examined. New records. COSTA RICA: 1 male, Prov. Guanacaste, Estacion Las Pallas, P. N. Rincon de la Vieja, 800 m, 27-VI–15-VIII-1992, C. Cano ( INBIO) ; 1 female, Prov. Alajuela, Finca San Gabriel , 2 km SW Dos Rios, 600 m, V-1980, GNP Biodiversity Survey ( INBIO) .
Discussion. This species is recognized by having the abdominal segments III–VI yellowish -orange with posterior margin of each segment and scars IV–V and V–VI black; pronotal disk yellowish-orange, punctures castaneous, anterolateral margin pale reddish to pale brown and pale yellow longitudinal medial stripe; scutellar disk pale castaneous-orange with three longitudinal yellow stripes; pro-, meso-, and metapleura, and abdominal sterna yellow with few scattered black dots; hind tibiae with outer expansion short, occupying 44 % of the total length of hind tibiae in males, 56 % in females, inner expansion occupying 48 % of the total length of hind tibiae in males, 51 % in females; maximum width of outer expansion of hind tibiae 0.94 in males and 1.18 in females; maximum width of inner expansion of hind tibiae 0.30 in males and 0. 35 in females ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 15–19 ).
