Stegana (Steganina) formosa Zhang & Chen , sp. nov.

Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. (S.) clavispinula Chen & Chen, 2009 in the shape of male terminalia (as figs. 1–7 in Chen & Chen 2009, Fig. 39 ), but can be distinguished from the latter by having the surstylus with 1 peg-like tooth ( Fig. 39B ); the pregonite small, with 3 sensilla ( Fig. 39C, D ); the aedeagus distally broadened in ventral view ( Fig. 39C ).

Description. Male: First flagellomere brown. Clypeus yellow. Mesonotum brown medially, brownish yellow laterally ( Fig. 8G ). Katepisternum yellowish ( Fig. 8H ). Scutellum dark brown ( Fig. 8G ). Halter mostly brown (Fig. Epandrium with ca. 26 setae on dorsal to posterior portions per side ( Fig. 39A ). Surstylus with numerous minute, serrated processes on outer surface and setulae along distal margin ( Fig. 39A, B ). Cercus with much pubescence ( Fig. 39A ). Hypandrium expanded anteromedially ( Fig. 39C, D ). Aedeagal sheath distally slightly dorsad curved and with several minute, serrated processes ( Fig. 39C, D ). Aedeagus with numerous minute, serrated processes distally ( Fig. 39C, D ). Subepandrial sclerite slightly vaulted, rounded distally ( Fig. 39E ).

Measurements and indices. BL = 2.45 mm in holotype (2.47–2.95 in 3♂ paratypes), ThL = 1.13 mm (1.17– 1.36), WL = 1.79 mm (1.91–2.31), WW = 0.91 mm (0.87–1.05), arb = 5/4 (6/4–7/5), avd = 0.74 (0.71–0.93), adf = 0.91 (0.93–1.16), flw = 1.83 (1.64–1.89), FW/HW = 0.37 (0.36–0.40), ch/o = 0.29 (0.26–0.30), prorb = 1.24 (0.92–1.25), rcorb = 0.77 (0.66–0.79), vb = 0.68 (0.59–0.72), dcl = 0.79 (0.69–0.81), presctl = 0.71 (0.57–0.62), sctl = 1.62 (1.34–1.96), sterno = 1.13 (0.72–0.96), orbito = 1.73 (1.68–2.00), dcp = 0.34 (0.36–0.44), sctlp = 1.35 (1.67–1.84), C = 2.58 (1.72–1.97), 4c = 1.00 (1.15–1.24), 4v = 1.71 (1.51–2.00), 5x = 1.32 (1.34–1.58), ac = 7.67 (9.89–10.75), M = 0.59 (0.61–0.66), C3F = 0.61 (0.60–0.62).

Type materials. Holotype ♂ ( SCAU, No. 123317, DNA #1490), CHINA: Chipen , Taitung, Taiwan, 22°45'52''N, 121°06'48''E, alt. 500m, 30.x.2012, ex tree trunk, H.W. Chen . Paratypes: 3♂ ( SCAU, Nos. 123318–20, DNA #2737), other data same as holotype.

Distribution. China (Taiwan).

Etymology. From the name of the type locality " Formosa " (= Taiwan).
