(a) Subsp. doria View in CoL (incl. S. schvetzovii Korsh. , S. macrophyllus Bieb. ): Stems and leaves glabrous. Basal and lower cauline leaves 3-7(-ll)cm wide, linear-elliptical to oblong-obovate, usually dentate. Supplementary bracts c. 1 as long as the involucre. Ligules 5-6. Achenes glabrous. Damp meadows and woods. Throughout most of the range of the species.
