Type:— PERU. ‘crece em medio de las nieves sobre la cumbre de la Cordillera. Prov. Paucartambo, s. coll. s.n ’ (not located).

Note: — The name Senecio discoloratus was not mentioned by Vision & Dillon (1996) or Beltran et al. (2006). We were unable to locate the type specimen and we have seen no other original material at USM where Raimondi’s material could be found, consequently, the identity of Senecio discoloratus is unclear to us.
