Figs. 52–55 View FIGURES 52 – 61. 52 – 55
Type material: Holotype: male from Maromba , Parque Nacional de Itatiaia [22°19' S; 44°32' W], Visconde de Mauá, Minas Gerais, Brazil, 18 December 1991, R.L.C. Baptista, deposited in IBSP 7737.
Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition that refers to the type locality of the holotype.
Diagnosis. Males of Scytodes maromba n.sp. resemble those of S. tacapepucu Rheims & Brescovit by the distal region of the male palp with a prolateral distal hyaline keel and a very long retrolateral sclerotized process ( Figs. 53–55 View FIGURES 52 – 61. 52 – 55 ; Rheims & Brescovit 2006: 306, figs. 42–43). They are distinguished by the distal area of bulb longer than the sclerotized process ( Fig. 54 View FIGURES 52 – 61. 52 – 55 ), by the smaller prolateral distal keel and by the presence of an additional prolateral subdistal keel ( Figs. 53, 55 View FIGURES 52 – 61. 52 – 55 ).
