Leaves mostly 2- pinnatisect. Pedicels usually glandular-pubescent. Upper lip of corolla j-j as long as tube; lobes without pale margin. 2« = 24, 26. • Jura, S. Alps, Appennini.

Plants showing some approach to subsp. (c) are recorded from the Pyrenees and the mountains of Jugoslavia, but are probably best assigned to subsp. (a).
