This large genus contains thirty­seven species, distributed in southern Australia and one is illustrated. Salkeld (1983) illustrated four species of Scopula : S. limboundata Haworth , S. junctaria Walker , S. quadrilineata Packard and S. inductata Guenée. The eggs resemble each other and also the only Australian species illustrated in terms of their general shape, arrangement of cells and the presence of longitudinal ribs.
