Type locality. Heredia, Puerto Viejo , Finca La Selva, Costa Rica.

Bionomics. Larvae have been collected in bamboo ( Heinemann & Belkin 1977; Harbach 1995a; Talaga et al. 2015). In southeastern Brazil, one male was collected in the Atlantic Forest at an altitude of 610 m ( Stanzani et al. 2023).

Arbovirus infection records. None.

Occurrence in Brazil. State of Espírito Santo ( Stanzani et al. 2023).

Occurrence in other countries. Costa Rica, French Guiana, Panamá and Peru ( Wilkerson et al. 2021).
