Heterachthes xyleus Martins, 1974: 149 View in CoL , fig.5; 2009: 189, fig. 230; Monné, 2005: 375 (cat.). Pygmodeon maculatum View in CoL ; Martins & Galileo, 2012: 203, fig. 6; syn. nov.
Remarks. Heterachthes xyleus was described on the basis of a female with flagellomeres not enlarged. The study of a male specimen revealed that antennae lack enlarged antennomeres III–VI, thus excluding this species from the genus Heterachthes and placing it in Pygmodeon where it was described again, now under the designation Pygmodeon maculatum .
Specimens examined. BOLIVIA, Santa Cruz: Florida (4 km N Bermejo, Refugio los Volcanes, 18°06′S, 63°36′W, 1000–1200 m), one male, two females, 25–29.X.2011, Wappes & Skillman col. (ACMS).
