comb. nov.

Pseudoscirus intermedius ( Corpuz-Raros, 1996) comb. nov.

Genus description. This new genus is peculiar in having characteristics of both Coleoscirus and Pseudobonzia . The new genus resembles Pseudobonzia species in that the small dorsal shield is ill developed and covers only the propodosoma, and the apices of solenidia on tarsi I are swollen. The new genus resembles Coleoscirus species due to the coxal plates I and II being fused medially, forming the sternal shield, and because their idiosomal plates are poorly developed. Based on these characteristics, members of Pseudoscirus gen. nov. are unique among members of the subfamily Coleoscirinae in having the following combination of features: small and ill-defined shield covering only the propodosoma, coxal plates I–II fused medially as a sternal shield, apices of solenidia on tarsi I swollen, and idiosomal plates poorly developed.

Etymology: Pseudoscirus is derived from a combination of Pseudobonzia and Coleoscirus because it has features of both genera, making it unique.
