Diagnosis. Pselaphomorphus maldonadensis is characterized by the shape of its aedeagus: the base with small slender arms and the accessory lobe membranous.
Description. Male. Body length 1.7 mm. Body flattened dorsally, reddish with yellow pilosity. Head pearshaped (length 0.4 mm, width 0.4 mm), base of antennal tubercle as long as diameter of eye. Longitudinal sulcus wider between eyes, spindle-shaped. Eyes kidney-shaped (diameter 0.15 mm). Antennal length 1.2 mm. Antennomere length as follows: 1 (0.1 mm), 2 and 3 (0.06 mm), 4 (0.07 mm), 5 (0.08 mm), 6 (0.06 mm), 7 (0.1 mm), 8 (0.08 mm), 9 and 10 (0.1 mm), and 11 (0.2 mm), antennal clava inconspicuous. Maxillary palpi yellowish with short, clear and even pilosity. Pronotum transverse (length 0.4 mm, width 0.5 mm). Lateral lobes trapezoidal, basally and apically rounded. Antebasal lobe rectangular. Pronotal disc rectangular. Elytra length 0.5 mm, width 0.6 mm. Humeral teeth and elevation present. Sutural fovea transversely elongate, sutural stria lineal. Basal discal fovea rounded, discal depression present. Abdominal segments I–V dorsally with length as follows: 0.35, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1 (mm). Genitalia. Phallobase regular, asymmetrical, with two slender arms. Median lobe complete and flattened. Accessory lobe membranous, twice as long as median lobe ( Figs. 19 View FIGURE 19 A, 19B).
Type material. Holotype (male): “ Perú, Puerto Maldonado, 13 to 16-VI- 81, 260 m. C. Kugler & R.R. Lambert” ( MHNG).
Etymology. Named after the after the city of Puerto Maldonado in Peru, where the holotype was collected.
