Type material. Lectotype (here designated) male: “ Romblon Isl. // collected by / McGregor // Syntypus [printed, red] // Type / Dr. W. Horn // LECTOTYPE / Prothyma schultzei / W. Horn, 1908 / design. Wiesner & / Anichtchenko 2022 [printed, red]” ( SDEI).

Diagnosis. Prothyma (Genoprothyma) schultzei is distinguished from the other members of the subgenus by: 1, its large body size; 2, the unique shape of the aedeagus; 3, color of the antennae; 4, color and surface structure of pronotum and elytra.

Description. Size: TL (without labrum) 13.6 mm (n = 1).

Head: Color shining black on vertex, near the pronotum, on frons, clypeus and genae; areas behind the eye and near orbital plates with red coppery and bluish reflections; surface glabrous, with two setigerous punctures next to eye, one along frontal margin and one dorsally at center; longitudinal striae on orbital plates and vertex; transversal striae behind the eyes and on neck, extinguishing near pronotum; striae becoming obsolete on genae, frons, and clypeus. Head as wide as elytra (EW/HW = 1.0). Labrum of male (female unknown) ( Fig. 15b View FIGURE 15 ) ochre-testaceous, margins slightly brownish, a slender darker area baso-medially; wider than long (LW/LL = 1.3); with four setae located near the margin, two lateral and two apical; with two blunt anterolateral teeth and two outward directed thorn-like anterior teeth at the anteromedian lobe, intermediate space slightly bulged. Mandibles dark brownish, with four teeth, small area of base testaceous. Labial and maxillary palpi testaceous, the last segment shiny black. Antennae slender, nearly reaching posteriorly to the middle of the elytra; scape (antennomere 1) weakly lighter apically, in the rest black with metallic luster; antennomere two blackish, antennomere three and four brownish with black apex; antennomeres five to eleven blackish brown, dull, finely, and evenly pubescent. Scape with one apical seta, the following three antennomeres nearly glabrous.

Thorax: Pronotum longer than wide (PW/PL = 0.8); sides slightly rounded between the transversal constrictions, nearly parallel sided; glabrous, with shallow, transverse striae on disc; black with red coppery reflections dorsally; transversal constrictions with bluish-green reflections; margins black; sternae and episternae glabrous, shiny black, partly with bluish reflections.

Elytra: more than twice as long than wide (EL/EW = 2.3), parallel-sided, with a flattened basal hump and a shallow depression next to the lateromedial dot, color shining black, a little lighter towards the apex, with coppery reflections on disc and greenish reflections along margins at basal half; elytral testaceous maculation consists of a humeral, a lateromedial, and an preapical dot; the large humeral dot is located at the shoulder; the lateromedial dot is oblique and the largest of the three dots; the preapical dot is rounded; surface with dense punctures, becoming confluent and forming grooves in the apical quarter of the elytra near the suture; apical margin distinctly rounded and restricted towards middle suture, with a tiny sutural spine. Epipleurae brownish.

Ventral aspect: Venter glabrous, bluish-green; trochanter glabrous, coxa, femur, tibia, and tarsi setose; trochanter and coxa testaceous; femur testaceous on ventral half, remainder, and tibia and tarsi dark brownish with metallic luster.

Aedeagus: ( Fig. 15c View FIGURE 15 ) left lateral view slender, curved, thickened in apical half, tapering toward tip, and expanded to spatulate tip (total length 3.8 mm).

Distribution. ROMBLON — Romblon ( Horn 1908: 273).
