Type material. Holotype: Democratic Republic of the Congo (Oriental Prov.): ♂, two labels: " DR CONGO, Oriental Prov. / Ituri region, Ituri riverbank / area, near Camp "Kelebo", / dense sec. forest, 29.iii–5.iv.2015 / yellow pan, leg. Diagnosis. Aedeagus moderately stout, with very large and nearly circular diaphragm with truncated distal portion; dorsal apical projection in ventral view visible, subtriangular; apex of ventral aedeagal wall broadly subtriangular and blunt; endophallus lacking needle-like sclerites, median tubular structure in subapical region with large bell-shaped and unevenly sclerotized central complex.

Description. This species ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 3 – 8 ) is externally nearly identical to P. pygmaea , only differences and measurements are given here.

BL 0.79 mm. HL 0.10 mm, HW 0.20 mm, AnL 0.38 mm; PL 0.24 mm, PW 0.30 mm; EL 0.45 mm, EW 0.38 mm, EI 1.20.

Aedeagus (Figs 17–18) moderately stout, subtrapezoidal, AeL 0.15 mm; median lobe in ventral view with large and nearly circular diaphragm in basal region, its distal margin straight; apex of ventral wall broadly subtriangular and blunt, apex of dorsal wall in ventral view visible, subtriangular and pointed; endophallus with median tubular structure in subapical region flanked by irregularly sclerotized components together forming large central complex, which is subtriangular with rounded corners; parameres slender, their apices nearly reaching apex of dorsal aedeagal wall, each with two long apical setae.

Female. Unknown.

Distribution. North-eastern part of DR Congo.

Etymology. This species is dedicated to Alex Gumovsky, a specialist on chalcid wasps who collected all specimens used in the present study.

Remarks. The general shape of the aedeagus in this species is so different from that known in all congeners that it alone can be used to identify P. gumovskyi .
