( Figs 10 View FIGURE 10 R–S)

Plekocheilus piperatoides Pilsbry 1901: 132 , pl. 21 fig. 66. Type locality: Colombia. Lectotype ANSP 263536 ( Baker 1963); Richardson 1995: 318 (references).

Material.?, Colombia: BMNH (R. MacAndrew Colln), UMMZ 147725 (ex Rolle); “ Columbia,” Jos. James leg.: ANSP. Venezuela, Mérida, Mucuchies, Gavida, J. Šteffek leg./ 27.i.2008: RMNH. “ Venezuela:” CMC C10750, CMC C10751.

Remarks. No specific Colombian localities are known for this species, but occurrence in northeastern Colombia is likely. Despite the vague localities, the records available would suggest that this species may occur in the bor- der area between Venezuela and Colombia. The specimen from Mérida is the first precise locality of this species. See also remarks under the next taxon.
