Comments

The holotype of this species is one of the specimens that Townes and Townes (1951, p. 281) identified as Platylabus rubricapensis from New York . It also bears a label that reads ‘HOMOTYPE Platylabus rubricapensis ’ ( Figure 32d ), which identifies the hypothesis of species that Townes had in 1941.
