Plagiogyria pectinata (Liebm.) Lellinger, Amer. Fern J. View in CoL 61: 115. 1971.
Range: —Greater Antilles; mountains from Mexico to eastern Venezuela, south to Bolivia (CO, LP, SC, TA) and southeastern Brazil.
Ecology: —Common; terrestrial in humid forests and grasslands above treeline; 2000 – 3450 m, 1200 – 3750 m elsewhere.
Notes: — Mickel & Smith (2004) discussed the complex and wide variation of this species in Mexico, especially transitional forms in venation and serrulation of the pinna-margins, as well as the reduction (or not) of the proximal pinnae, all characters used by Lellinger (1971) to delineate different species in the Neotropics.
