Material examined. None.

Distribution. Western Atlantic—Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul), Uruguay, and Argentina ( Boschi 1964; Coelho & Ramos 1972; Bordin 1987; Guinot & Macpherson 1987; Melo 2008; Spivak et al. 2019).

Remarks. Previous records in São Paulo include Ubatuba and Ubatumirim ( Mantelatto & Fransozo 2000; Bertini & Fransozo 2004; Bertini et al. 2004, 2010). Due to the small size and similarity among species of the superfamily Pilumnoidea , this species is difficult to sample and identify.
