TYPE LOCALITY: “ in agro Parmensi [Parmese territory ( Italy)]”.

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, lectotype (missing fore- and right mid-legs) ( MZUF: Box 9): Phytomyptera Rnd. / unicolor Rnd. / 449 / holotype ♀, Phytomyptera Rnd. unicolor Rnd. , det. Stig Andersen / Phytomiptera [sic!] nigrina (Meig.) , det. Stig Andersen.

PARALECTOTYPE NOT EXAMINED: 1 ♀ ( MZUF: Box 9): Phytomyptera Rnd. / unicolor Rnd. / 449 / Phytomiptera [sic!] nigrina (Meig.) , ♀, det. Stig Andersen.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Phytomyptera nigrina ( Meigen, 1824) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 324) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1865c: 195) described Phytomyptera unicolor without specifying the number, the sex or the length of the specimens. Herting (1975: 12) designated a lectotype (♀) but did not mention an additional MZUF female (this additional specimen is a paralectotype).
