NOTES: In the Guide of the British Mycetozoa, Lister (1895: 20) wrote “On rotting herbaceous stems. Rare.” but no collection is mentioned specifically. In BM there is one box (1499) with the corresponding date. It is from Wardour

Castle, Aug.29.95. The collection is referred to in notebook X: 100–101, 100 A and in the publication (Lister, J. Bot. 33:

323.1895), where Lister explains the taxonomic situation of the species. We designate this as the lectotype as it is in the notebook. On X: 100 A, alongside the illustration, is a list of collections (“Box 1491–1503”) that includes this. There is a slide from this collection. Another three boxes were located from the same place (BM 1548, BM 1549, BM 1550)

and collected by Lister a day later. In spite of the fact that these are on leaves instead of the stems in the publication,

we consider them to be original material and so syntypes.

In K (http://apps.kew.org/herbtrack/results) there is material [K 170505 from England, 1875, collected by A.

Lister] noted as “ syntype of Physarum crateriachea Lister 1894 ”.
